Bacon avocados have smooth green skin, an oval shape and a creamy flesh with a mild, slightly nutty character. Their delicate flavour works well in salads, on toast, in guacamole or simply sliced with a little seasoning.
Origin and box sizes
Grown around Artana in Castellón, near the Sierra de Espadán. Available in approximate 3, 4 and 9 kg boxes. Individual fruits vary naturally in size and shape, so box weight does not indicate a fixed number of avocados.
Ripening and storage
Avocados continue to ripen after picking. If they arrive firm, keep them at room temperature until ready to eat, then refrigerate to slow further ripening. Availability changes during the growing season.
